SSSC · Social workers and social service workers

SSSC CPD courses and requirements

The SSSC has replaced post-registration training and learning (PRTL) days and hours with continuous professional learning (CPL). Registrants confirm their learning in an annual declaration, covering set core learning elements, and a random sample is checked.

What the SSSC expects

  • CPL is confirmed in an annual declaration at re-registration; you do not upload your record
  • Social workers cover 8 core learning elements; other registrants cover 7
  • Learning on trauma-informed practice and on adult and child protection is required for everyone
  • A random sample of registrants is asked to have their learning endorsed
